Featured Alumni Panelists for March 2nd
Selena is a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) Intake Specialist for the U.S. Department of State. She holds a B.A. in Criminology, Law, and Society from George Mason University (2021).
Selena currently serves as the Chair of the National Intake Task Force for Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. In her role she leads a committee that clarifies, evaluates, develops and proposes any substantive changes to their governing recruitment and initiation documents and procedures while ensuring they are in alignment with National and University policies.
She remains connected to Mu Chapter at Mason, providing support from a national perspective and hoping to serve her chapter as an alumna more directly after her time on the NITF.
Najee is a Campaign Development Manager for the Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) Leukemia Ball in Washington, D.C. She started her tenure with then “LLS” in 2019 while living in Savannah, GA, recruiting and teaching high school students how to fundraise and coaching them through a leadership development fundraising competition. Now, she works with executives and partners across the country in support of the organization’s national black-tie event, the Leukemia Ball.
Najee earned her B.A. in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Art Therapy, and a minor in Nonprofit Studies, from the New Century College in 2016. Upon graduating, she served a year with AmeriCorps in Washington D.C. She credits her career in nonprofits to the immersive, semester-long program she completed for her minor in 2013. Najee was familiar with LLS when interviewing for her first role because of the philanthropy connection to a fraternity on campus (of which her now-husband was a member of – also a GMU alum!).
Najee remains connected to Zeta Tau Alpha through alumni groups and serving as the GMU chapter Harm Reduction Advisor. She and her husband enjoy bringing their two young children to Mason Homecoming every year – a true Patriot family!
Kye Farrow is a Principal Consultant at ERPA, where he leads HR technology transformation initiatives leveraging Workday across commercial, higher education, and government sectors. In this role, he partners with organizational leaders to modernize human capital systems and drive strategic improvements in workforce processes and employee experience.
Beyond his technical consulting work, Kye is deeply passionate about leadership and communication. He helps leaders elevate their impact through intentional messaging, emotional engagement, and clarity — skills he cultivates both in client engagements and through coaching conversations designed to strengthen executive presence, influence, and team alignment.
A proud alumnus of George Mason University, Kye earned his bachelor’s degree in History, where he served on the research team whose work contributed to the monuments dedicated to enslaved individuals on Wilkins Plaza. He was recognized with the George Mason Memorial Society award and later earned his master’s degree in business from Mason.
He remains connected to the Mason community as a member of the Mu Mu chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, an organization grounded in leadership, achievement, and service.
Michael D. Marino is the Executive Director, Columbia College Alumni Relations at Columbia University. He holds a B.A. in Russian Studies from George Mason University (2011) and a M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia (2015).
Michael’s career has been driven by the belief that a college education can change someone’s life. His career in higher education began working with students in various roles overseeing student activities before moving into development and alumni relations. At Columbia, Michael works with individual donors, led affinity giving programs, and now oversees a team that works with a wide variety of alumni volunteer opportunities and events.
Michael is Vice President, Partnerships and Sponsorships for the George Mason University Alumni Association and has previously served as the President of the Lambda Alumni Chapter.
