Family Weekend Day of Service

Mason Families Give Back - October 18, 2025

The Center for Leadership and Intercultural Engagement partners with the New Student and Family Programs to support their annual Mason Family Weekend. Each year our office helps to coordinate a variety of service projects for families to participate in. This year's 2025 Mason Families Give Back program will take place on Saturday, October 18th from 2:00pm-4:00pm in The Hub, Rooms 1-2. The event is open to all students, faculty, staff, Mason families, and alumni.

Featured service projects

  • Animal Chew Toys: Volunteers will make chew toys for animals using fleece. Chew toys will be donated to a local area animal shelter.
  • Flowerpot Decorating: Volunteers will decorate flower pots that will be given to University Sustainability. These flower pots are often given away during their farmer's markets and are perfect for growing small seedlings.
  • Patriot Pantry: We will be collecting items to support George Mason's very own Patriot Pantry. While we appreciate all forms of generosity, there are frequently requested items that are most popular with student users. Here is Patriot Pantry’s online Amazon Wish List. These items will be delivered directly to the Student Support and Advocacy Center on the Fairfax Campus.
